A podcasting business with a blog that search had largely ignored. One quarter of daily publishing rewrote its entire search history.

This is what the first quarter looks like. It is not a finished result and we are not presenting it as one.

    The starting point

A blog that search had never noticed.

Unlike most accounts we start, this one already had a blog. It just wasn't earning anything from search: 600 impressions and 57 organic clicks in total.

The publishing existed; the search visibility didn't.

    02

    What we ran

Keywords from their own positioning, published daily.

We generated a keyword set from the company's own positioning — what it produces, who it produces it for, and the terms those people search. The engine then wrote long-form articles against those keywords and published them straight to the site with on-page SEO applied: titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links and schema.

    The numbers

    Three months of Search Console.

Three months in, this account is at position 18 — deep on page two. Wolverine was in a comparable place at the same point. Impressions build first; position follows; clicks follow that.

    04

    The acceleration

One quarter against everything before it.

The clearest read on this account is against its own baseline: everything the site had ever earned from search, against one quarter of publishing.

    05

    What happens next

The next quarter is about position, not volume.

Daily publishing continues, but the priority shifts to the queries already ranking between 11 and 20 — the ones one or two places away from page one — with internal linking and refreshes pointed at them. Wolverine's second half is the shape we are working towards here: impressions accumulating first, clicks arriving as positions cross over.
